15-91 motor whine

Sat down at the 15-91 this evening and in between trots to the door to dole out candy to the kids had a good look.
It's as clean inside as it is outside!
I oiled all pertinent items but didn't disassemble anything as my attention was divided.
The wiring is good!
It runs and without any cleaning or attention free wheels just fine.
There is a noticeable motor whine though. I pulled the hand wheel and found the fiber gear to be in fine condition with a bit of grease visible.
I know I'll need to remove the motor for cleaning and replacement of the wicks - but - what should I look for and or do to reduce the running noise. Or is that the way these are?
I went to YouTube and watched a couple videos of 15-91 in action but didn't hear the whine.

Thanks for any input!

I don't know the answer to your problem, sorry, but I sure am envious. I'm looking for a second 15-91 for my winter place. I left the one I bought this summer at the cabin and I love the way it FMQs so much. I'm finishing up a baby quilt I have to get done for a shower tomorrow and none of my machines do as nice a stitch. So, I'll keep looking and turning green wishing I had all the ones I see on QB.
