15 91 Sticking Hand Wheel

I can use some help with my 15 91. She's sewing fine. But when I move the hand wheel by hand, when the needle is down and enters the needle plate, it kind of "sticks" and resists, as I continue to turn the wheel. What causes that resistance

When was it last serviced?

You might have some thread stuck in the bobbin area.

miriam 11-23-2014 01:40 PM

Thread can be stuck just about anywhere - I don't know why people let the thread get that stuck in a machine. I was messing with a 401 earlier and there was thread all over the inside - lint, too. It is a wonder that machine turned at all. If you clean the machine you might find what ever is ailing it - if not you have a clean machine.

Yep, it was a piece of thread stuck in the bobbin area. Fyi, my house can always use a lot of cleaning, but never fear, my sm's are always clean!

Ummm. Are you referring to the fact that as a person grows in their quilting skills there is a decline in their house - engineering skills?

Not at all, I think that we just find better, more fun things to do than clean house.

I'm so glad you found the problem. And I agree about the house cleaning. I certainly would rather quilt than clean.
