15 vs 115 Pictorial
I know we've had this discussion, and since I finally have one of each in similar vintage - here they are.
To make is simpler, I've got my 115 "Wings" and the 15 "Tiffany" so I won't have to say "left/right" for you to tell them apart. Here they are - and one big difference is the 15 won't stand up on it's own. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps181f17f4.jpg So it gets a soup ladle for help. The face plate/tension are slightly different, but I don't think that is due to model as my Tiffany 115 is similar to this 15. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps47c8fd94.jpg And other views - as far as I can tell, the upper casting is the same mold. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...pscbbb2ca3.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps82bbf4b2.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps8b7e883b.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psfba07bc1.jpg The real difference is underneath - the base is a very different mold as are the parts. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psf155bc39.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps772d7d82.jpg 115 http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps028259d8.jpg 15 http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psa32f9577.jpg So, the only way to tell if it's a 15 or a 115 is to look at the underneath parts LOL!! |
Very nice tutorial.
Thanks, Rodney |
Thanks for the info. Very interesting.

Very nice explanation.

I can see the difference. Once again, it's good to look beneath the surface. Both are so beautiful.
