185K spool pin

While putting my “new” 185K in the cabinet, I broke the plastic spool pin right at it’s base. Can anyone tell me how to get what’s left out? There is nothing left to get ahold of to pull it out.
thanks in advance

You could try drilling part way into it with a drill bit smaller than the remaining pin , then see if the bit will grab it enough so you could pull it out. Or use the drill to break up the pin and extract the pieces with a dental tool or small sharp hook.
It's a frustrating thing to happen, but take your time and you'll get it out without damaging the machine. Finesse...not force. :-)

"Finesse...not force."

Should be over every service table.

Do you have one of those thread holders you can use? Or put your thread in a jar or cup. Either works in a pinch. All my machines have two spool holders except my 301. Since I only use larger spools that don' t fit on my 301, I used a cup to hold my thread. It worked great.

Another trick is to screw a skinny screw into the stub and us that to pull the rest of the pin out. I've done that on my 401A. I think that's how we can tell its not in the right cabinet. Too bad, it's staying, lol.
