1863 Signed Singer Document
1 Attachment(s)
So I just won an auction and received my document.
The seller listed it as a document TO I.M. Singer Co in 1863, but in fact is is also singed "Accepted" and "I. M. Singer & Co" vertically over the document. Best guess read so far... -------------------------------------------------------- HEW Bank Jany 17/63 Misters I.M. Singer & Co NY.173 (written over 162) Please send P.B. Goodsell Esqr of the "Boston Traveller" Boston, Mass, the Folding Top Family Sewing machine as a gift and charge it to advertising account Wayne Local Written vertically over the document is: Accepted I.M. Singer & Co It feels like the 173/162 was written at the time of "acceptance" but I have no evidence yet. |
An amazing document. These things are so unique. Thanks for sharing.

There is also a salutation of "Gentlemen" near the top. Cool document!
