1884 Singer IF with Wild Rose(?) Ornamentation

Hi everyone. I finished my 1884 Singer IF. I've talked to some Singer experts and they say that this ornamentation is not listed on ISMACS or Needlebar websites and is not currently named.....so I'm calling it Wild Rose until a better name is established! I've created a post on my blog about the machine which has tons of detailed pics. Please check it out and let me know what you think! Thanks.

I believe you have naming rights by right of discovery. Where do you find all these machines??

I believe that the tradition to name flora is to use Latin. Wild Rose would be Rosa Fera.

I don't know what the tradition is with respect to naming machinery or the tradition of naming flora on machines. I kind of like it because "ferrum" is Latin for iron which is what the machine was made of.

Just a thought.

However, on the Singer machines the decals/decorations use common names as indicated at https://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mac...ic-decals.html and http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.ph...ine_Decoration

I've seen an old machine like that and the lady called it "apple blossom"

It's not apple blossom. I have an 1888 Singer Improved Family with apple blossom decals and it's different. Here is a link to pics of my apple blossom machine.
