1911 Family Rotary White
I was recently asked by my sister how do you get rid of an old sewing machine? "Ill take it ":D Sight unseen but what a cool old machine ... The problem is part of the treadle is broken off?? Where would you get a replacement or could it be welded?

Depends on the part. Post a picture and we can make some suggestions for you.

The machine looks like the one on SteveH posted 7-4-13. I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet:(

OK, will help you with a little tutorial for posting pics.
1. If you are using a digital camera, the pixel settings should be set at 640X480. That is the best setting for those who have dial up. 2. On the top right of the reply you will see a square box with a tree. If you hover over it it will say "insert picture. Click on that icon. Another screen will appear where you can go to the picture files on your computer. Find the picture and click on it. Voila, the picture will be inserted into the reply. DH is calling for his dinner. Gotta run. Oh, If you already have pictures, you may need to re-size them to be web friendly. Easiest thing to do is take another picture. I will be back after dinner to see how you did. Good luck. |

Here is a forum thread about a free program to re-size pictures. |
Someone must have pulled that tree up by the roots. I've examined every pixel and there is no tree. My pictures load now because I reset the camera. Then I go to Go Advanced and post from there.

Where you put a quick reply (here) 4th from the right is a tiny rectangle with black lines and a dot on each corner, inside there is a really tiny tree. Click on there and follow directions given by sweet Caroline.

If you don't have the tree in your Quick Reply toolbar, then go to the aqua toolbar near the top of this page. Choose 'Forum Actions', then 'General Settings'. Scroll way down to miscellaneous and mark 'Enhanced Interface full WYSIWYG editing'. Save changes and the tree should now be in your toolbar.
I'm interested in how to repair a broken foot pedal on a White treadle, too. JB Weld epoxy didn't hold for me. edit: Looks like Nan already posted these directions. Whoops! Judy |
