Oh ok, so unless an expert is looking at it, barring the machine hasn't had alterations made to it. Theres really no way to tell?

Yes and no, there are enough small changes that I have an idea as to what it might be but yeah sometimes you will need and expert that knows them like the back of their hand to tell the difference.

No they will all be a straight stitch but the later ones will have the backtack feature.
