1954 Singer 319 "Greenie"
Can anyone tell me which machine needles are to be used in this machine? I seem to recall someone stating that it took a special needle and universal or other Singer needles would not work.

These machines require 206 x 13 needles.

I think some have had them adjusted for regular 15x1 / 130 needle. You should be able to tell from the needle that's in the machine, but hard to know since it's such a common mistake to insert the regular 130 needle in just any domestic machine. The wrong needle will damage the bobbin case.

As Mickey2 mentioned there are some that have changed 319s to accept and use 15x1. From what I have read, part of the reason would so one would be able to use more sizes of needles. I know Sew-Classic carries the 206x13 but only in two sizes. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
Sew classic had the 206x13 needles a couple years ago, don't know if they still do.
