1964 white singer featherweight 221k info

So I’m not in the sewing as much as everyone else here but I buy and sell things on the Internet and I stumbled upon this 1964 singer featherweight. I look at the prices on eBay and I mean they’re ridiculous I really don’t think people pay thousand dollars for the stamps the the one that I have it’s probably never been used maybe twice. There isn’t even a single scratch on the whole machine. Is there an area in these forms for selling or is it just discussion. I haven’t posted on the eBay And have been researching. What’s weird is it’s a 221k serial ev949960 and some sites tell me that it’s a whole different model number that you think it’s a 328K. But then in my research I also found it records are not always exactly correct. I just wanted to reach out there put some feelers out, I collect antiques and vintage items myself I think it’s pretty cool these are so collectible but still I need to sell it,covid is killing me. Lol thank you

It is definitely a 221. The K designation is for manufactured in Kilbowie, Scotland. There are errors in the Singer s/n database, but also as common are errors in reading the charts. A 328 is an ox compared to a 221!

Nice find. Bonus points for extrapolating the month of manufacture from the production run. Some folks like to own vintage sewing machines made during their month and year of birth.

thank you , it really is beautiful. I took it over my grandmothers house cause she’s really big into sewing and she was in love with it. All the mechanics of this machine are beautiful, I think how it all runs in unison perfectly is something to be in awe of ... I bought this for $25 at the thrift store. Lol I’m sure eventually I’ll find somebody who can really appreciate it more than me by using it. And it’s funny because the price I’m selling it for is like so much lower than everyone else and there is really going to be one special person who decides to buy it and when they see the condition they will freak out.

You haven't said anything about a case, accessories or special badging. or who owned it. I watched an auction f for one that had been owned by Loretta Young. Her name took it to the near $2K mark, It had been used and scratched.
Welcome aboard. Does it have bobbin and bobbin case. They often disappear on those.

I have a white one too. My case isn't in perfect condition but I like to collect them. I have 3 black and 1 white so far.

Oh, stop! It isn't good to run the machine with the foot down and no fabric under the foot. It can damage the underside of the foot.

But it is beautiful!
