201-2 motor question
Hello all,
I am in the process of restoring a 1938 201-2 in original #65 cabinet. Because the motor needs rewiring and all is going well. There is a fiber washer on the armature shaft, or should be, but it's not there. Does anyone know of a source or the dimensions of this washer, in particular the washer thickness and I will try to fabricate one. Thanks for any help. :) Soman2 The other Rodney |
Is it stuck to the bearing? Down near the bottom there.

Elusive fiber washer

Thanks for the responses, but, its not there.:( Look at the pic of housing screws. Someone had previously taken this machine down and a nickel to a doughnut, lost that washer. All the screws on the motor were very easy to remove and considering this machine has not been used for 25+ years, the screws should have given me a harder time to remove them. I don't know exactly what the purpose of that shim does, but before disassembly, the motor ran fine after a lube and oil change. Except for the washer, the motor is completely rewired and it fires up nicely. I can make the washer and will guestimate the thickness.
