Even though the stitches they make are identical, the later one is so much lighter than the earlier one that I won't even consider the other.

I guess I don't really mind heavy weight machines that don't march around on the table - pitb to move around though.

I had read a lot about the 201s but never read the reason the aluminum body changed the shape so much. Good to know!

And no I do not know why the U.S.A. has so many K Singers after the end of the forties. We took in a lot of war brides after WWII and they brought machines with them, but that should have almost stopped by 1950.
