My latest acquisition is this 206K25. I have not had time to CLA, but it looks very promising. I studied and asked posters about the 206 and have pretty much determined the 206, 306 etc were early ZZ machines almost too complicated for the household. That's a challenge I accept. Will keep you informed. I was lucky to get the few accessories, such as the odd 206x13 needles which are reported to be expensive and difficult to find. Compared to 15x1 needles that may be true, but I've seen them offered an many sites. |
Cool machine!

I have one...have only tested it, and am waiting for a motor for it as the one I have on it is toast. I've heard lots about them, both pro and con...but am anxious to be able to actually play with it!

Looks like I may have to add one of those to my wish list!! WoW!!! Beautiful!! Have fun with your new baby!

Ron,
I have wanted a 206 since I got started on this sewing machine thing. I'm jealous and green with envy cos every body seems to find them and I can't. At least not when I have any money. Which isn't often any more. My wife has a 319, and it's got similar controls as well as others. I read the owners manual and had it figured out fairly quick. They are not that complicated. Let us know how it works when you get to sewing on it. Joe |

I found them to be neither difficult to find or expensive (local sewing place has three sizes and charges 60c each). What *is* hard to find is the twin needle. I finally found one a few weeks ago, but on inspection, I think I could make a regular twin needle work!
Best to to just hunt down an original double needle. Joe |
The challenge of the 206 was accepted and the challenge wins. The machine is cleaned, oiled, but not adjusted. The timing is off and the ZZ connections need adjusting. The machine is almost pristine, but I'm not taking the time now to take on that challenge. Other machines presently need my attention. I may get back to it when I'm more up for it, but for now I'm considering it a bad investment.
