503A Rockateer Rescued

I journeyed from TN to IL and got to meet J. Miller, "Joe". I had a sick Rockateer and needed help with it because it was jammed and wouldn't move. Joe worked with it a few minutes and healed it. It now runs like a sewing machine. He is a marvelous sewing machine mechanic. He even noticed it had the wrong bobbin case. It was close, but no cigar. He recommended a place to get a new bobbin case and now all is well. It was definitely worth the trip. Joe is moving away and we are sad to see them go. A good SMM is hard to find these days. Thanks again Joe. The Rockateer is feeling much better and we are having a better day for all your help. I picked up a Singer cabinet to help lighten his load, even a miniscule amount. We are on the way back to TN, much happier to have finally met the Joe we have come to know from QB. It is a small world and SM people hang together.
Most gratefully,
Donna

Yay for Joe! And I'm glad you got your SM working. It's more fun that way!

Donna,

Glad you and your DH could stop by. I've been grinning all day about fixing your machine. I'm glad I could be of help.
And I'm glad the LSMG had the right bobbin case. That machine should sew up a storm now.

Joe

Joe saved my two FW's too, the man knows how to fix machines.

I love sewing machine people! I wish I knew some in person, so I could just hang around and try to soak up knowledge and look at all their cool toys. I'd be an OSMG groupie. LOL

This forum is the next best thing. I've soaked up a lot, and there's still just SO MUCH more to learn. Every thing I learn just shines a light on at least six more things I DON'T know. I'm totally OK with that though...I don't think I'll ever run out of new things to learn and that's a good thing!

Ditto to Joe's helpfulness and expertise. Glad it worked out so well.
