6 Machines Found in a Barn

My DH and I had a road trip today, a lady about 125 miles away had several machines she listed on CL, when we got there they were in a barn and very dirty. 3 Kenmore's 117.959 brown, 148.392 blue, 158.353 pink. These 3 are in pretty good shape. 1 is a Nelco. 1 is a singer 6136, no foot pedal or cord, so I don't know if it is worth purchasing those parts. 1 Kenmore is locked up and the Nelco is locked up, the bobbin case is missing. I traded a quilt for all of them and 4 cabinets, a couple of the cabinets are in good shape. I hope I can get them going. Any comments on the models will be appreciated.

Excellent deal, no comments on the machines but now I know I need to carry a few trade quilts with me wherever I go... Course I have to make them first.

Oil, oil, oil, and more oil. Don't force anything. The 117 series Kenmore is made by White and rotates opposite Singers so allow for that.

Thanks Joe, I will remember that. I will have to clean them up, they are really dirty. I don't know how to post pics. I'm glad I just ordered a quart of oil. I think I will need a lot. The pink Kenmore has the manuel and cams. The blue one has the manual too.

I've had deals like that. Joe is right oil them. But clean out the lint and evict any mice or bugs first. The cabinets aren't likely to interchange much. Wiring should be thoroughly checked before plugging in. Shoot some pics.

I have a .pdf manual for the Kenmore 117.959. PM me if you need it. The one I had was a good machine but didn't bring much when I sold it.

It will run, I tried it with another foot control. The wiring is very bad. All the insulation comes off when you try to move it. I would like to find what I need to get it sewing. That will probably be hard to find. I will check, there is a couple manuals that the lady had one has that it is for a model 35, I don't know if it is the right one or not for this machine. The machine had been in a cabinet, but the cabinet is not usable. It had a funny looking box thing that the knee pedal hooks to; wiring bad on that too. I will let you know.
