Works great...think her name will be "Lilly" as in lillie white, and after my husbands grandma. This just about completes my "wish" list, but who know???? Thanks to the info on here, I was able to even get her a proper badge. The serial number doesn't quite jive with the internet info, but she must be a 1964 with EV as her first two letters.

Oh, Lilly is a pretty girl! Lucky you to find her. I'm on the hunt for a bargain of a FW myself. Happy Sewing!

I just saw one of those in Dothan, Al. My Honey was with me, hinted for my birthday in March. Waiting to see if he picked up on the hint.

Lilly, is pretty and looks in great shape...Funny how we like our Girls...never seen a machine named after a guy. LOL

Got her off of ebay....have always looked but most bids are way too high...got lucky on this one...poster listed nothing about the machine and I think that put most people off....I figured I could fix or spruce up one, and since the picture shown on the listing had the light on and the case in it, I put in a bid hoping for the best....I'm very pleased with her. Should add the case was pretty grungy, but cleaned up nicely, and I imagine the musty smell will go after some fabreeze dusters take over the smell. Thanks for your comments.

Great machine, my mother had one like that and I let her give it to someone, could kick myself now, but have my grandmothers 221-3 and a white treadle, now to find place to put them. Still looking for a FW I can afford.
Glad you rescused her and will have to keep my eye on E-Bay and CL.
Happy for you.

That would be hard to resist ... I have three black ones (getting ready to list one on craigslist - it's back from getting serviced since I wanted to know it was in working condition before selling) but would love to have a white one. The last one I purchased has the scroll work on it (have wanted one since the other two have straight lines). I saw the last one at an estate sale one morning and didn't buy it - it stayed on my mind all day and I went back at the end of the day and offered them $50 less than they were asking and they took it!!! Just made my day!!!

You did a beautiful job cleaning it all up - enjoy!

Congrats on getting Lilly! She is beautiful!

Your white FW is pretty. Lily's case is the best one I've seen.
I have a Singer 201K treadle named Randy and a tan FW named Freddy. I tend to name them after the people I bought them from.

I have an "Andy"...he is from late 40-early 50...........a 301A, which means he came from Anderson, SC (not many miles from here)..and I do love sewing on it.......all the time....a while back, my $$$$ Bernina died, and there was my little $32.00 machine and good cabinet just sewing right along...I have used it a lot, since I got it. A fW is still on my list too.

I think I must own her twin.

I've been looking for an affordable Featherweight that sews for years now.....I saw a pale green one once and fell in love with it....of course the original black would be fine....;) Congrats ---- achieving or acquiring the desires of our heart is always a blessing---- even for us ---thanks for sharing.
