Another machine for Christmas!

I was surprised and pleased to get this little gem from my DS and DIL! Research shows it to be a Casige hand crank toy machine, but the needle that came with it had the shank cut off so it would fit making it too short to complete the stitch.

Otherwise, it is in excellent shape with nice decals and minimal rust/pitting which I think can be cleaned up.

So I found a needle that I believe may work on ebay and realized that the seller is one of the regulars here on the Vintage board! Small world!

That is one cute machine. I love the red flower on the black machine. The hand crank seems sturdy, some I've seen seem wobbley.

Do you happen to know where to get a hand crank so I can modify a treadle machine? I found one, but the writing on it appears to be from China, I would like an original Singer.:D

jmabby, I do not know of a source for a hand crank, but someone else on this forum probably does. You may want to start a new thread with your question so it is seen by the majority of posters.

I think the flower is a poppy, one of my favorite flowers! :)

I got the needles from Jon today and I am happy to say - It stitches!!! Woohoo!
For anyone who is looking - this little Casige machine uses a 12x1 thin shank needle.
