And another Presser Foot question...
My Singer 252 sewing machine originally came equipped with three snap-on feet (and one 'ankle').
Can I also use standard, low shank, vintage, one-piece clamp-on feet on it? I tried putting a generic rolled hem foot on the machine. The foot seems to fit too tightly, or too close to, the feed dogs. I did make a short run of a rolled hem on a flour-sack towel, but it was not easy. I have purchased a few low-shank, one-piece, feet - Gathering/Shirring foot, Adjustable Hemmer, Special Purpose foot, Button foot #161613, and an Edge Joiner foot. I hope they work on the 252; but if not, I know I can use them on the Singer 15-91 when it's up and running. Also, which is the proper term, "low shank" or "short shank"? |
Either term will do. Yes the low shank feet should work, I did the same thing with my Dressmaker. I don't care for snap on feet so I took off the ankle and just use regular short shank feet. [See, I used both terms :) ]
Cari Hey, I didn't put that smiley there. |
