Antique? Singer? Imatation?
Ever so recently I stumbled upon what seemed to be a treasure. it would appear that I found a singer sewing machine but after some research I have not a clue. The serial number I acquired does not seem to match any information found here. http://www.singerco.com/uploads/asse...GER_AJ_nos.pdf the machine in question is visually identical to this magnificent contraption with the addition of some age and is missing an unknown amount of bits, pieces and parts. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...electedIndex=1 The model is Simanco USA 21 and The serial number is aj 249022. Any and all information would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time QuiltingBoard :)

Singer model 66 made in 1949.
http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...l-numbers.html actually ... the serial number listed on the Singer link that you have in your post also indicates it's a 66 made in 1949 ... not sure where you got model 21 from. |
I think DogHouseMom that you looked at the wrong one, I get:AJ- 189171 229170 221-1 40000 November 18 1949, you're looking at the one right below it.

I see the same answer as Doghousemom.

Visually it looks to be the same as the one in the link i pinned. But the one i acquired has a serial number that doesn't seem to be listed. on the bottom of the machine its indented with simanco USA 21.

You know what, I over looked the fact that the serial number could fall in between the listed numbers on that site.
