Antique / Vintage sewing machine collector.
 

About a year and a half ago, my wife was given a Singer Red Eye Treadle sewing machine. It had sustained years of water damage and I was totally taken back by the prospect of it's repair.
About 3 months later, my wife sewed on it for the first time.
Needless to say, I caught the bug. As of today, I have aquired 11 more Vintage / Antique machines.
Initially, I only collected Singer Treadle machines. However, I have sinse aquired a few electric models.
I've also obtained 3 White Rotary and 1 National.
That's where the trouble started. Like everyone else, I have had much difficulty finding parts and info. on both White and National E.
Serial #'s on my White machines are as follows: 41X33084, FR3220667 and FR3090617. I can not locate a number on the National E.
Anyone out there have any helpful advice...other than througing in the towel!

Welcome to the funny farm! You will find lots of enablers here!

We love photos around these parts...if you post pics of those Whites you'll probably find people who have the same or very similar machines, possibly with different badges from yours but the same "under the hood".

Welcome! ThayerRags.com is one source of parts for older machines. He's also a member here though he doesn't advertise here. It's against the rules.
A good source for common replacement items is Sew-Classic.com. The owner is very knowledgeable and they have a good reputation here.
jihmnj is a member here with an Ebay store. He sells obsolete sewing machine needles among other things. Your National uses a 20x1 needle.

There is a little square box with a picture of a tree in it. It's the third icon from the right in the Reply toolbar. Click that and it will lead you thru the process of posting a picture. It's quick and easy after you've done it a few times.

and your picture should be 640x480 or there abouts or it will reject it.

Thanks so much for the info. I've reviewed the steps but have not as yet tried posting a picture. Steve H. Also advised that the pictures be 640x480. Will make adjustments and post pictures shortly.

You are not a true collector until you bring 9 machines home at a time!!!!lol, just a joke. Would love to see your machines, pictures are great.
