Anyone heard of a brand called National Columbian?

I have acquired a treadle machine from Freecycle. Only thing is I've never heard of the brand, nor can I find any information on her online. I was told that it belonged to the woman's grandmother and that she remembers her sewing clothes on it 50 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It says National Columbian on the body of the machine.

Thanks so much!
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Congrats on your new acquisition. Might be a National but a picture is needed to tell. Definitely sounds American made. Enjoy.

http://cleveland.craigslist.org/atq/3757275288.html looks like a National Colombian treadle head that was electrified. The decals look very nice as do the plated parts.

Lisa,

The NeedleBar Needle Book shows the Columbian as a name made by National. It shows that it takes the 20x1 needle.
