anyone know what type of machine?
 
hello!

i saw this video and i loved the machine and its unique foot/bobbin area. any idea what it is? maybe a boot patcher?

I never saw anything like that before - quite interesting. Will have to Google and if I find anything I'll come back and let you know.

Singer 47W70 Cylinder Arm Darning Machine

It's just regular darning on a cylinder bed machine.That's how I was taught to darn, but I usually do it with zig zag. Nice technique, now I have to go try to copy it with a free arm machine.

I really liked how he was rotating the arm. Maybe it was only just the fabric. It was cool watching how he fixed denim. :D

True true but... you know... Power! lol I too was a zig zagger then i saw embroidery done on a 15 treadle. Which BTW was truly ah-mazing! I just kinda thought the arm was a nifty thing.

Ooh! According to Ismac only 700 of these machines (47w70) were made between 1960 and 1970

That would make it a pretty rare machine to me.
