If this was a little closer to me, I probably go ahead and buy it, and make DH mad. Except for the cabinet leaf, it looks pretty good to me. It's a Janome New Home.

Not a bad looking machine and it's priced reasonably, especially since the ad says it comes with the cams. That will save whoever gets it a bunch of trouble finding the right ones.

Hey Debbie, I have this machine. It was the first sewing machine Pat and I bought in 1967. It is still going strong and has done car seat make overs, recovered sofas and chairs and made lots of clothes. This is a great machine. I love it and it is the only electric I use. Wishing you and Richard a very Merry Christmas. It did the redo on all the furniture in the Parlor and the music room. I think you saw the furniture when you came for your visit.

It's a great machine and this one's in great shape.

I just bought one that's a similar model # and the exact color New Home/Janome. I recently serviced and and I have to say I'm impressed. I can't remember if the amp on the motors is 1.2 or 1.3 and it's a very nice machine. All metal gears, heavy beast and will likely sew through bricks if you wanted to. I really like the fact that you can have it needle centered as a lot of these Japanese machines are left homing and that drives me nuts. Bummer for me is that I didn't get any cams.

I think I paid back in 1967 for my mdl 446 New Home $125.00 brand new. We thought that was a lot but we wanted this machine and never had any regrets. Wonderful machine and so easy to use.

Skip, I didn't realize you and Pat had recovered your furniture yourself....You did a wonderful job! Your whole house is so beautiful, and I'm so glad you gave us the chance to see it.
I just really don't have the room for this machine, and I thought I'd post it in case someone here was close enough that they could go and get it, if they were interested.
