Backwards machine ... funny

This E-bay ad caught my eye. Don't they realize they've got the head in backwards??

The front is probably missing or looks like H%$# and they are shamed to show it.

quiltingcandy 12-25-2012 09:52 PM

That is interesting - but it really looks like the draws are in backwards because the treadle is on the same side as the wheel.

I agree with quiltingcandy. The drawer assembly appear to have been separated from the cabinet at one time and put on backwards when reassembled. Drawers needs to be spun around 180 degrees and it would be correct I believe.

I agree with others, the draws are in backwards...Duh to them

Well someone liked it as is - it sold!

lclang 12-26-2012 05:51 AM

It's probably for a left handed sewist! LOL

It's not sold, bidding doesn't end until the 27th.

Yes, it is the drawers, they need to be inserted from the other side, and the picture re-taken from the other side.

That is funny, but I agree if the machine is set up like that on purpose - could be for a left handed person! Or, whoever has the machine now has no clue as to what a sewing machine looks like or does! It would be hard to sit and treadle from that side - the bars would block your knees . . . and you'd have to use the HW in the opposite direction.

The cross braces would be in the way of your legs, so I agree it is just pictured backwards. On some treadles the drawers can slide all the way through, so someone just replaced them facing the backside. I've seen many photos of only the backside of machines!

jlhmnj 12-26-2012 09:05 AM

$50 isn't a bad price, at least there reasonable.

It's the drawers, because the holes for the belt to go through are lined up correctly with the wheel. They just put the drawers in wrong. DUH! Don't they realize that all 5 drawers need to slide out in the same direction???

me2 12-26-2012 10:43 AM

They are showing the backside of the machine with the drawers in backward. The treadle wheel should be on the right side and drop leaf on the left. The decals on the back of a machine head are usually in much better shape than the front.

PATTIESPEARL 12-27-2012 10:54 AM

i THINK THAT THEY HAVE THE DRAWERS IN BACKWARDS. YOU COULD NOT PEDDDLE IT WITH THE CROSSBARS THAT WAY.

Greyhound Mom 12-27-2012 03:50 PM

think the drawers are in wrong not the machine.

Patty55 12-28-2012 12:06 PM

I see this often. It tells me the seller knows nothing about sewing machines at all. Sometimes that's a good thing to know.

tenngal 12-29-2012 11:53 AM

I'm left handed but I think I'll pass!

tenngal 12-29-2012 11:53 AM

How'd they do that !!!!!??????
