Belt help please?

I think it's time I treated my motorised singers to proper belts for their motors. They currently have those cheap rubber belts and I know they are not supposed to be very good for them.

I'm in the UK so will try and get them from a UK supplier. My problem is that I don't know what I need to buy. Is there a way to work out what belt to buy for what machine? I know they come in different circumferences - how do I measure for this? Also do they come in different widths? Is there anything else I need to know.

Clare,

I don't know of any UK sources for belt information, but for research purposes I can suggest you check the belt section on Sew-Classic { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/ } She has many of the Singer machines listed under the various belts she has. That might get you to the belt numbers you need anyway.
