Blindstitching machine

I've been looking for one to go with my industrial machines, and this week one was posted in Sioux Falls.

So I contacted the seller about seeing it. This is a Flea Market type shop that I've been to many times, and seen this machine there along with another one, but that was when I wasn't looking for one. The place is closing this location, and does not have a place for this at the new shop.

In our emails, I mentioned that I collected vintage machines, and the store owner wrote back that they had another older machine - a US Blindstitch and it had a treadle base. I responded I was very interested, and she came back with $100 if I wanted the older one.

As soon as I saw the machine, it wasn't even a choice between the two - I am so happy to get this one!

We bent the light down to get it loaded.

It's got a neat drawer on the end - and had some needles and manuals- though one is for a much newer machine.

The motor runs and the machine moves. I have no idea how old it is - the seller said it was from the 20's, but I'm thinking more like the 50's. It's a model 118-S with serial number 1310-1185

That is a cool machine. I always liked older machines and am really becoming interested in acquiring them. Seeing all the interesting machines posted on this board is really hazardous to my checkbook. lol

Great find! It would be a no contest decision for me too. That is a neat looking machine and looks to be in great all original condition.
