Bobbins for Montgomery Ward Model J

I recently acquired a Model J Montgomery Ward sewing machine. I can't seem to upload a picture of it - it's gray instead of green but looks just like an Elna Grasshopper. What type of bobbin does it take? It's not mentioned in the manual and it doesn't have any bobbins with it. I don't know which ones to order.

Not quite an answer, but you may want to look at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...e-t262776.html

Thanks for your reply. I checked them out but I didn't see any thing mentioned about bobbins.

I can neither confirm nor deny, but I believe it is close to a class 15. I think it is slightly smaller but don't know if it is in height or diameter. I also think that it does not have a notch like a 15. I'm wondering if the 15J would work?

From my understanding, this machine was made by Portman and there are other machines like yours,

Good luck getting the machine back in service.
