Hello everyone! I am new here, and I wasn't sure where to post this, but I really need help identifying a piece that fell off along with a small washer in my sewing machine around the bottom of the feed dogs area...I called Brother customer service, but they did not know what piece I was talking about because it is hard to describe. I live over an hour away from sewing machine service centers, and I do not have the money to get it checked out just yet. Is anyone able to help? I have attached some pictures of said piece because it is so hard to describe. Thank you in advance, and take care!

I never knew there were so many parts inside a sewing machine. This is a link to the Brother replacement parts. Feed dog machabism starts at page 10. Good luck!

The link didn't come through.

It looks like the spring that the bobbin basket bumps up against as the thread comes through the thread passage. I don't see it on the parts diagram. It's usually screwed in place just under the needle plate, on the right side, in the front. The bump on the bobbin basket should hit it and bounce off as the thread comes around the front.

Thank you everyone! I can't seem to find the part in the diagram either, and Brother customer support can't seem to figure it out either and keep suggesting I take it into a service shop (which is fine). I am going to try to find the right place for it on the sewing machine again, and I will keep everyone updated. Thank you again for your time and help!

If you get it put back please post. I save all trouble and repair posts for reference.

Hello again everyone! I got the piece put in, sewn several little samples, and it seems to be holding up nicely. I will post an update if anything changes! Thank you again to everyone that responded, sincerely!
