Brother Pacemaker PE-300S Machine
 

Does anyone on this board have this machine. I would like to learn how to do embroidering on a sewing machine and this was on CL and is priced at $125. I just can't afford the newer machines but I need to know if the price is good one. It has the manual, accessories, embroidery hoop, thread and 8 additional cards. One card for additional fonts. Any info you can give me will be appreciated.

Be careful buying a used embroidery machine. My best friend bought one with all the bells and whistles inexpensive and then found out that embroidery software runs only on Windows XP.

The price is good as long as you are aware that with this machine you aren't able to connect to a computer or use USB sticks for transferring designs to the machine. You can only use the memory cards. Using blank cards and software to transfer designs does need older operating systems. If you are happy with what comes with the machine, or looking for the older Brother cards for more design choices, you should be fine.
