Cam "crossover"

Is there a list of which cams can crossover. For instance Kenmore cams fit White or Elna (don't know if do or don't; just using as example). Or Singer cams work with such and such?

You're probably thinking of the first post on page two here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...t252968-2.html

I'm fairly certain Elna cams are unique and don't fit anything else (although they did fit all Elnas that accepted cams with the caveat that the earliest Supermatics would only work with single cams and not doubles).

The only reason some Kenmore fit White is that White was making the machines for Sears and putting the Kenmore name on them.

Most of the time they will not interchange - unless the Mfg that made the machine is the same, and you'll find that is quite common after WW2 and a lot of companies outsourced to Japan Mfg - so the same factory was making machines and putting lots of different names on them.

That's what I'm hoping The Cam Thread will grow into as people post their cams and the machines they know they fit. If there's enough entries eventually some will overlap with the same cams fitting other machines as well.
