can anyone tell me about this machine?
 

I found the same machine online. For the money they want and if it sews, I would buy it in a heartbeat. It is a Singer Clone or a machine maybe made by Singer or maybe Japan and branded as Livingston Deluxe. I will be interested in the story of the machine. If they have the manual, maybe you can get a clue from it.

They are only asking 30$ for it. I was really wanting a treadle machine, but all the ones that are close enough to get to and in decent condition are going for an arm and a leg and part of another arm lol

It is a Japanese made 15 class clone, not made by Singer at all. (Singer did not make machines for other companies like most other American manufacturers did.)
These are generally fantastic, tough machines. They use common 15x1 needles and 15 class bobbins, though your best bet for good metal bobbins is to buy vintage ones. The new metal bobbins are just plain crap.

For a 15 clone in a cabinet, $30 is a very good price. If pedal and accessories still are there it's a pluss. I payed around $80 for a 201 in a small table, and it needed quite a bit of cleaning and a few replacement parts to work again. I have never regretted spending time and money on it. Expect a bit of tending too; cleaning, oiling and maybe a new motor belt. This is just part of regular maintanance.

As others have told you, it is a copy of a Singer 15, and that being in a decent cabinet, and including accessories increases it's value.

A year ago, I was paying $20 for similar sewing machines in a portable box. As everything else has increased in price, $30 for it naked would be reasonable. I see a wide oval plate on the pillar, just below the stitch selector. Does that say DeLuxe? I just paid $25 at Goodwill for a portable that says Remington Sewing Machine, but have not had time to play with it yet. The case it came in is crap, but to be expected of pressed cardboard.
Perhaps Cari can tell you if a copy of the Singer 15 manual would be a good one for this machine.
I have so many machines that I have been walking away from the ones offered, but when I took the top of the case off and saw the beautiful shade of blue, both my husband and I said OHHhhhh, so it came home with us. I bought two rolls of blue sparkle duct tape yesterday to try on the case.
Only you can determine if it is good to sew with.

I've paid as little as $5 for a clone, I think the most I've paid is $35, but there are a few that I would pay more for. Lately the prices of all vintage sewing machines seem to be getting crazy high. Clones are good machines that sew a beautiful stitch, but they aren't rare or valuable. There are literally still millions of them around badged with hundreds of names and in several colors. I would only pay more(but not a lot more) for one in an uncommon color, such as the two toned ones or a white one, or a red one that wasn't a repaint. A red one I'd pay more for.

I think you can convert any belt driven machine into a treadle. the problem would be to make it fit a treadle cabinet.

Not necessarily. The hand wheel has to come out further than the bed of the machine for the belt to clear it, otherwise holes would have to be drilled in the bed. Some older machines, like some Necchi Supernovas had plugs in that end of the bed for easy converting to treadle.
