Hello,
I just bought this Morse sewing machine for my wife yesterday at the Goodwill. Only $10!! anyway, I can't figure out what model it is. Everything seem to work fine, and i'm figuring what is what as I tinker a bit. The one thing i can't figure out, is if i'm missing part of the bobben wrapping wheel. Excuse my novice terminology. If some could please tell me which model it is I would be so greatly appreciative!! |
You can get a standard bobbin winder "tire" anywhere. I think Joannes even has them. Or you can order them from Sew Classic online

Thank you so much Candace! That is a huge help!

nedly,
Welcome to the QB Forum. I can't tell you what model your Morse is, but the J- A 19 number indicates it was made by Toyota. A very high quality manufacturer. The same one that makes cars and trucks. I think the remaining alpha numeric series is the serial number. Your bobbin winder is missing the rubber tire. You can get them at the local sewing machine shop (LSMS) or Sew-Classic { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/ } My biggest suggestion is to use Tri-Flow oil, also available at Sew-Classic. Stay away from anything but that or regular sewing machine oil. Joe |
Nice machine. I have four Morse machines and I love them. Only one has a model number. I would call yours a "Photo Stitch Deluxe"

Thank you so much for that post Joe! I really appreciate you telling me what oil to get. I hadn't thought of that!

THank you Sunflowerzz! That for sure is a step in the right direction. I looking forward to getting this up and running because my wife is super excited to use it. You wouldn't by any chance have a diagram on how to thread this machine? I believe I have the bottom thread all figured out, but not the top. I feel like a monkey doing a math problem!!

It threads pretty straight forward, Here are some pics from the only Morse manual I have for my Push Button Zig Zag Photomatic.
