Can you identify these accessories

A friend bought these in a garage sale, labeled as sewing machine "tools". Do you know what machine they will fit? The accessories that are labeled say Griest or rotary.

they look like cording feet, to me

That's a lot of rolled hemming feet... all different widths! They have the front mounts on them (as opposed to the side mounts which are more common). I'd guess an early Singer 66 is what these will fit.

Hemmer feet and 1 gather, the others I can't figure them out. I have a White Family Rotary, cir.1915. I have the same feet for the machine.

Bkay they will fit a Free Westing House and a New Home Light Running Machine. I own both of these machines with some of those pieces.

They don't look like they fit a Free machine. The easiet way to tell is that Free ( and New Home made by Free) have a narrower clamp bar than White, National, or Standard. And this foot looks like the space is the wider style.
The other easy way to tell, is what the shirr plate/underhemmer looks like. It is unique for each machine, but I can't really see it in the picture. I'll have to see if I can dig up pictures of the different ones. |
They look like hemming feet for rolled hems each would give a different width hem.

bk Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. Not affiliated with off-site link(s) |
Oh, I forgot, I found a neat picture of the various feet that Boye had from 1909 at http://xfossils.com/cintipam/boye/small/chart1.jpg Unfortunately, it doesn't actually identify which machines they actually fit, but it does show the variety available at that time.
Another thing, that I think I read from Macybaby, is that the needle hole is sometimes offset a bit. I think that means that are some feet that will attach to a machine, but the needle hole in the foot does not line up with the needle hole in the needle plate. That's really interesting, Janey. Not all of these have exactly the same shape clamping device. So, does that mean they are from various machines?
I took another photo, but I'm not sure it will help ID the machine. bkay |
