chain stitch
Can anyone tell me if there is a newer machine that has the chain stitch capability?

Babylock has a couple sergers that do the chain stitch, not sure if it is the same thing you are talking about though,

The Babylock Sashiko machine does a hand look quilting stitch on the front, but the back is a chain stitch.

Some of the old Touch and Sew machines can be set up for Chain stitch - IMHO that would be the redeeming virtue of owning one...

Some of the 158 series Kenmores had chain stitch adapters...the ones with the needle plate insert that you can switch from straight stitch to zigzag. I have a 158.1755 that came with one & it makes a very nice chain stitch.

I'm thinking it would be a good idea to take a hard look at the accessories that come with a machine - and read the manual!
