Collection of toy sewing machines-wow
I just stumbled onto this craigslist ad, and thought there might be a few of you who would enjoy looking:
https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/...592060232.html Lots of hand cranks here.. Funny thing- I have that machinists handbook. :) |
That's fun!
I have 1 "toy" machine. It's a Singer model 20 chain stitch machine. |
I'm kind of glad I don't live anywhere near this. I could make a fool of myself really quick. Oh, but too just go look!!!
|
I'd think professional estate sellers would know most of those aren't toys but early true sewing machines.
|
I agree - I saw several that were antique machines and not toys. Sure wish I lived in the area - I would have been the first in line.
|
yes...not all toys.
I think some are salesman's machines. They were small portable versions of larger machines that door to door sales people could pack with them for demonstration purposes. |
Maybe the person who listed the ad was using the word "toy" as a size descriptor, as in "toy poodle".
|
It's located really close to me. I hope I have time to wander over there tomorrow.
|
Such a shame I am no where near Oregon! Let us know how your trip there was, Maryellen! Thank you for the post 1charmshort!

It appears that the sale was last weekend, not this one.
