Sorry, I had my information incorrect about the timing of the Singer spoke handwheels. The 6-spoke pre-dated the 9-spoke. I had it backward in my earlier post.
Joe, can you wind a bobbin on your 99 handcrank with the aftermarket handcrank kit? Thanks Renea On my machine I am using a real Singer hand wheel, and only the aftermarket HC so that might make a difference. I do know the aftermarket hand wheels sometimes are different in the area the bobbin winder wheel rolls. Joe |

Yes. On my machine all it took was some adjustment at the point where Miriam indicated with her screwdriver. I didn't need to remove the screw or modify anything.

Joe, is the original handwheel you are using original to your 99 Singer or did it come off of another Singer?
I still have not been able to pick up my 99 so I can get to work on it, but even when I do, I'm probably still hesitant to order the original 128 spoked handwheel for fear the hub depth may not work on the 99. Thanks for letting me know the reproduction hand crank will work with an original Singer handwheel. Is the handle on the reproduction handcrank made of plastic or wood? Thanks Renea |
