I’m maybe going to buy my first treadle machine but was wondering if I can get help identifying exactly what it is first. I tried to do my own research but couldn’t tell exactly what model it is and whether it is vertical feed or not (and does this matter? Seems like people like the vertical feed)

For me with my setup and old school digital camera, I have to click Go Advanced to download images that I have reduced using the defaults on this site:

Once you get the images on your list, you have to widen the window to the far top right to see/press the upload button. I've never been able to get the paper clip to work for me, and I haven't really tried to embed images into my text since the board format changed.

Annie, your photos do not show up.
First, make sure your photo is less than 2 mbytes.(I make mine 96 dpi, which works for me.) On a reply page, courser down the page below "submit reply/preview post" to "attach files". Click on "manage attachments". Then click on "browse". Find the photo on your computer. Open the QB page to full size (or go all the way over to the right hand side where the "upload" button is located. Click it and your file will upload.

I think I got it now

That is not the Davis Vertical Feed. The VF has a needle plate that is rounded on the sides and straight on the front and back. The needle plate can be rotated, depending on type of fabric one is sewing. The VF doesn't have feed dogs.

Hopefully, jlhmnj or Macybaby will be able to identify it. Davis made a lot of machines and many have other names on them.

I guess my next question for anyone is this - is it worth it to drive hours for this one plus the attachments vs 20 minutes for a Minnesota c with no attachments?

Here is some information on the Minnesota C, which appears to be a Davis machine anyway:

Check the price for attachments for the Minnesota on ebay, or any other shopping site that might carry them. Based on treadle prices in my area (only craigslist) I think $200 is too much and I would not drive hours to get it. For either machine make sure all the parts are there, particularly the shuttle, because finding a replacement can be difficult/expensive.

Also, both these machines are vibrating shuttle machines (VSM), which is way different from a round bobbin machine. I don't know if VSMs technically are vertical feed, but I would guess not.

Prices around here for treadles seem a lot higher. Most people are asking $200-400. Occasionally I have found some for $100-200 but none less. not sure why prices are so high around here.
