Davis Sewing machine

I was recently in an antique store where I found an old Davis treadle sewing machine for sale. It was the actual sewing machine that looked to still be on the original table. I tried it out and it seemed to work rather well. I don't know much about antique sewing machines, so I can't say how old it is or what model (I didn't think to ask the lady working at the time). They wanted $200, good buy or no?

Maybe if you can find out the serial number and a picture of the machine someone will be able to give you a better idea.

But the true question is, Is it worth it to you?

If you can put a picture of it up, we may be able to help you know what to look for in your machine.

It might even be a two spool/

Nope, two spool machines were National or Eldridge.

It isn't unreasonable if it is a needle feed. You can tell real quick - no feed dogs. I have a Davis. It treadles the easiest of all else I have in working order. I understand those are real nice for putting on binding.
