Decal designs on Vintage/Antique Singers

I just purchased this 1913, model 15, serial number G3390154. based one my 3 days plus of research this was one of Isaac's major step forward's in machine design, but he pasted before he got to see this machine in production. I'm still in the learning process of my passion for the Singer sewing machine, and have learned that some machines were givin "NickNames" Tiffany,,RedEye,Sphinx..Is there a Nickname for this disign..I refer to it as "Mosaic" based on the tile like gold leaf design to make up the decal's trimming the machine..Also threw many hours of search..I have only found one unit from that year/model, for sale and it was for parts and in the poorest condition I've ever seen. It is in a beautiful cabinet, with a knee pedal/electric, which Im guessing threw reading was one of the options for this machine besides a treadle. Does anyone have any input on this unit? that can help me be more informed on this beatuiful machine?

Actually, you've already listed it. :) Those are the Tiffany or Gingerbread decals. Very pretty, and looks to be in great shape. It looks like it shouldn't take much cleaning at all.

I think this might be a 115 - if my memory is correct, the Tiffany decals were only used on the 115's in the model 15 line.
I do tend to get details mixed up, though so don't take this as true until you can research it yourself.

If the hook makes a full rotation for each stitch, it's a 115 - if the hook rocks back and forth (oscillates) then it's a model 15 of some other sub-type.

The full-rotary operation of the hook makes the machine smoother, quieter and lessens the occasion of skipped stitches when free-motion quilting. Between this and the Tiffany decals, is it any wonder that this machine is on my wish list? :)

I am in love with the vintage machines-----I wonder what wonderful or sad (or maybe both) stories they could tell!
Congratulations on your beautiful machine!

I can't help you eith the name of the decals, but it is a lovely machine. Congratulations on getting a pretty vintage machine.

It would help to have a picture of the front of the machine to identify the model. I have a 66 with the tiffany decals, so that decoration was used on more than one Singer model.

Yes, I have a 27 with the Tiffany decals -they're beautiful and these appear to be particularly well- preserved. A picture of the front would be good - it looks like the tensioner is on the far right of the picture but maybe it's not.

Check out the action of the hook when you get a chance - rotary or oscillating. :)

The Tiffany or Gingerbread decals were used on the model 15 from 1899 to 1930, according to the Needlebar website. Pretty machine, pretty cabinet. It would be my guess that this machine is NOT original to the cabinet....I don't think that cherry finish was used until the 40's or 50's...and that your machine was originally a treadle.

Great video!

Nice machine. I would agree with Charlee that the machine was added to a later version cabinet.

Congratulations.
