Does anybody know what the heck I bought?

I found this on Craig's List and thought the cabinet was pretty. Then I decided it was a pretty cool machine, too. It sews beautifully. It has all of the original purchase paperwork and the manual, It says it's a Morse model 672. Can anybody tell me anything about it? Is this a good machine or a hunk of junk?

It sure is pretty. If it sews well you are off to a good start.

It's an excellent machine. What is the purchase date on the receipt? Mid 50s to mid 60s? These Japanese made beauties are workhorses.

Morse has a good reputation. I've never heard of this model #. But, it's cute and looks to be all metal. Check the camstack though, they sometimes have cracks as they're usually plastic/nylon.

You have a very nice Hunk of a sewing machine.

The cabinet might be Singer, though. It looks a lot like a no. 40 Library table.

You will love your 'new' Japanese machine. When I first caught the "vintage sewing machine virus" I was buying the old black ones and then I discovered the Japanese clones and....whoa Nelly ;) ....not only do they sew beautifully....they also come in lots of awesome colors and looks. My name is Cathy and I'm a sewing machine addict.

Nice looking machine. Lucky you.

Let us know how she sews. She looks to be very clean. I have a vintage Morse, model TZ5. It doesn't have a cabinet. Would love to have a cabinet like yours. It looks to be walnut maybe. Have fun with her.

The machine looks nice. I really like the cabinet with the two leaves to put in place to sew. :)
