dressmaker 7000

Hello, I have a great running Dressmaker 7000, however it came to me w/o a presser foot lifter so I rigged up a temporary one from another machine that does the job sort of, but does not really fit the machine. Does anyone know if any Singer/Kenmore parts would fit this Japanese made machine? I'd like to put in a more appropriate lifter but not sure what available parts would be comparable. Thank-you

If it was me, I might take it to a repair shop or person who has a sewing machine bone yard, and try a few things. Or, you could buy a whole other machine just like it, just to have for parts. I'm looking at my Dressmaker, and comparing it to my Kenmore, and the lever on the Dressmaker is thicker where it attaches to the machine. It will need to be the right size/shape to engage the tension release.
