There are books that can be bought or perhaps looked up in a library for more accurate information. I'm sure you have already looked it up, but Eldridge founded National Sewing Machine Company in 1890, the production of the chain stitcher went on for many years, at least until around WWI. Records of serial numbers and production year you see with older Singers doesn't always exist with the other brands, they are often lost.
