I haven't touched a thing- waiting til I've got a few days to devote seriously to it. I was wondering about the issue of filings getting into everything. For me the high risk of grit in the works would outweigh the replacement costs. Canned air could just jam bits deeper into the mechanics. I guess there are many, many specialty Yahoo groups. I should take a look!

Candace,
I see pics of these machines all the time on GW. Been tempted by one or two. Could you slip in a pic of the drive wheel so I can relate to what you are saying about it? I'd appreciate it. Joe |

Success!!!! It runs perfectly nice and quiet now and it didn't cost me a cent to fix!

I am Soooo impressed! I used to work on my '65 VW Squareback, so I guess this shouldn't be too difficult.

Good Job Candice, when do we see pictures of it (and the process?)
and Congrats on a very handsome machine. |
I'm going to start a new thread on the Pulley redressing so as not to have it get swallowed up. I think it's something everyone should try before buying and installing a new one!

So did you get a manual with this too?
