DROPPING PRICE TO $75 BUYER PAYS SHIPPING!
I have a Supermatic that I had serviced last year. It runs with a knee control. It is a great machine. When I bought it, I wasn't sure that I would mind the cams, but quickly found out that I am not a "cam" type person. The accessory box that holds the feet and the cams is included, but the top of it is cracked in half. See picture. It includes the original manuals, 15 cams, 12 bobbins and I have some elna feet that I will include. The metal carrying case turns into a extension table for it. On the inside of the case, the previous owner wrote her name.
I bought this machine about two years ago, had it serviced and had the motor pulley replaced last year. I decided it is just not for me. I have about ten machines that currently run and will be getting rid of some of them.
It weighs just about 30 pounds.

Buyer to pay shipping.
Will sell to first to PM me.
Can accept paypal, money orders, checks or cash.

1. "Regular Here" as of 19 Aug 10
2. Verified permission to sell with PatriceJ, Senior Moderator, non 19 Aug 10

I am asking $100 for it.-PRICE DROPPED OCTOBER 15!
If you have any questions or would like additional pictures, please PM me.
Thanks

debbieumphress 10-16-2010 05:25 PM

And it is an ELNA. Beautiful. Wishful thinking here. Wow. Awesome.

natalieg 10-16-2010 05:41 PM

Ah, Debbie.....you know you want it!!! LOL

debbieumphress 10-16-2010 06:17 PM

I have only been in and out of this post a few times. NO biggie. Will have to sleep on it. I have several machines I want to sell too. I shipped a 301A to Terryl in Florida and she hasn't made it. Terryl moved and the mailman remem- bers forwarding "Abbey" but it has been ten days. We are waiting until monday to trace her again. What a mess.

natalieg 10-16-2010 06:29 PM

Wow-I hope you can locate it....I would be horrified if that happened to me. This Super that I am selling I bought from a gal on Ebay. Long story short, she promised priority shipping. It didn't show in a week and a half. She finally told me then that her hubby mailed it and he decided it would be cheaper to mail it parcel.....duh....I was so upset, especially after paying priority for it!

With this machine, I just don't know anything about cams and have decided I don't want to. If I sell it, great, if not, it will just stay with my collection. :)

debbieumphress 10-16-2010 06:31 PM

Maybe since we brought it forward someone might see it. I have no idea what cams are. LOL. Hope you sell it soon.

wolfkitty 10-16-2010 06:37 PM

Yes, what are cams and what is their 'advantage' or reason for being? (That's why I come here. I'm learning so much)

natalieg 10-16-2010 06:53 PM

I am not very well versed in it, but, in the second pidture, see the little black discs in the top of the accessory box? Those are cams. Also in the second picture I have a little door on top opened, that is where you put the cams. They make the stitches different. You have one for zig-zag, another for another stitch and I think, at times you put two at a time....dunno for sure.

cabbagepatchkid 10-17-2010 09:14 AM

Maybe you could try Craigslist. I just bought the same machine on
CL, a couple of weeks ago, for $50.00 and it only had one cam with it. I think it is a cool looking sewing machine!

purplefiend 10-17-2010 09:22 AM

Cams are the forerunner of the built in cam stack on modern machines. They are disks that you put in/on the machine to make fancy stitches and zig zag. In a modern machine you move a lever or turn a knob to get a different stitch.

wolfkitty 10-17-2010 09:51 AM

Thank you, purplefiend.

purplefiend 10-17-2010 05:36 PM

wolfkitty,

I don't know if the Round Rock has much water near it right now, you should've seen it when we had 10" of rain this summer. I'll upload some Round Rock donuts to you.
They are tasty when warm.

Ditto---I bought one for $40 plus shipping on eBay a few months ago. Haven't messed with it yet, and it needs cleaning and oiling to run. There are tons out there for around that price, so your price may be somewhat high. :| Sorry to say!

JUNEC 10-18-2010 06:07 PM

How many Cams dors it come with?
THanks
June

natalieg 10-19-2010 01:20 PM

I miscounted, there are 16 cams.

Yours may have more cams and be in great shape, who knows about prices. She said hers needs cleaning and oiling to run?? Yours is running .Each machine is different. Yet again, someone posting a lower price on your post, so sorry. There are so many reasons for different prices. Hope this did not deflect from your price and getting it. HUGS Besides look at all that comes with your machine. SOunds like all the original parts and manual etc. You should have no problem getting this.

Yes, yours looks like it's nice and comes with a bunch of accessories so you can get a higher price than I paid. I check Craigslist regularly for vintage sewing machines on my "wish list" and advertising on there is free. You never know who might be looking for one of these green machines in your own area and then you wouldn't have to worry about shipping it.

Okay I am going to give you my expert opinion on this one (in my best Antiques Roadshow voice  ) I think the price is really fair and if anything it is on the low side since it was recently serviced. Either way if I was not tapped out in the sewing machine cash department I would get it.

These are a really very nice and well built machines and they are very collectible and will do nothing but go up in price.

Billy

Thanks Billy! It is on the low side, less than what I got it for off of eBay two years ago.
I will keep it if it doesn't sell for my lowest offer of $75 and relist it another time. It is currently offered on Craigslist as well.
It is not a necessity for me to sell it, I just was thinking I should start departing with some of my machines that I don't use, but I can't take a loss on them either.
Thanks for looking!
Natalie

I have a green Elna and really like it. I have several vintage machines and this one along with the Singer 301 are my favorites. $75 is a great deal if it has all the cams and is running. The machines looks in beautiful condition. The after market 1/4 inch foot fits on this machine. The carry case that she is selling with it folds around the machine and makes a sewing table.

This is my green elna but it shows how the metal case makes a sewing table. Very nice!

Oh how I miss using a knee lift machine. .....Oh snap out of it Chase !! (Retired and have no desire to work again........LOL)

LOL

Seriously, my industrial Pfaff had a knee lift, I was like driving in the Indy 500 sometimes. Hit the pedal, snap into reverse and lift the walking foot, onto the next cushion.

Good luck!!
