Rodney, just paint the shelving and brackets the same color as the walls. Should conceal everything. Of course you could always make a short curtain and attach that to the shelf.

I have material on the way to make a valance. Last night I went to my shop and milled some recycled pine to trim the front of the shelving. I will stain and seal all tonight and apply in a couple days. I will use my 1896 Standard treadle (seen in the pics. above) to fabricate the valance. Once completed, I will move, this weekend, pending no rain, a few more machines in cabinets to round out the décor.

I'm always amazed how neat everybody's sewing room are. Mine has so much fabric, I can't move, and too embarrassed for anyone to see it.

Like how you have it set up. Amazing how strong those shelves are. Looks great!!

I fabricated the brackets from 1/8" x 1-1/2 angle iron cut, then mitered to 90 degrees and welded. They are lag bolted to the studs and are very strong supporting about 400 lbs.


Rodney-it's a scrap lap quilt ready to bring to the long arm lady for quilting.
