English made antique sewing machine

Purchased this beauty, "The Pentagon" in an auction yesterday. Want to locate a User Manual but my online efforts are not successful. The serial number is 22581.
Any help in identifying the manufacturer will be much appreciated |
I see this is only your second post. Welcome aboard! and well done on posting pictures. Beautiful machine. It shares some similarities with a Singer model 27 (nearly identical top tension) and looks like the top threads the same way. Other than that I really can't help, maybe some of our English members will be able to.

Very pretty. Muv has some real nice tutorials - those tutorials were enough to get me using an old long bobbin machine. Now that I can - I love it. Link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...v-t167789.html Muv has a lot of info there and on her blog. Enjoy.

Very pretty machine.... you sure know how to pick 'em. I love my long bobbin, too. And, welcome to the QB.

I think you nailed it.
Rodney http://www.sewmuse.co.uk/Jones%20Family%20C.S.htm For example this online statement: The easiest way to confirm if your badged machine is a Jones C.S. is to look for the large screw head on top of the arm between the two spool pins. Also patent date matches the imprint on the bobbin cover plate. Thank you all who helped me narrow this vital data for me Now I'm in pursuit of the user manual. Thanks again!! |
