Extension table

Hello all,

Well the hobby/sewing room for the most part is finished. I will bring in a few cabinet units that I have in storage, a little arranging, cleanup and back to having fun. When I used the dining room table, I made an extension table, but using it just wasn't 100%:(. Now with a dedicated room, I made a modification and now feel that it's complete as originally planned. Have a few pictures showing the extension in action. I can also use the extension to support my easel when the mood strikes to do a painting
Chow for now.

Nicely done! Great table, machine and set up!

That looks really really nice!!

I love this setup - I have a lot of vintage machines that I'd like to use; this seems like a good way to set them up so you could swap machines pretty easily (assuming you've built bases for all of them that fit this extension).

Functional, and beautiful! Very nicely done. :)

Please explain your seam ripper in the last photo.

Hmm, it is a nice lookin' seam ripper, too.

The extension looks great. I think it will serve you very well!

could you use a door to make this? I have a couple of closet doors that have been replaced and was wondering what I could use them for?

Great looking table, base and seam ripper Rodney! Nice way to get a good work surface while using portable machines.
4Dogs: Yes, you can modify a door to work. You may need to add some bracing around the edges where you cut if it's a hollow core door.
