Featherweight

Just picked up another featherweight-manuf in 1934 -beautiful little machine-got it all cleaned up-got a little problem-need some help---someone!!

we think there is something behind the housing pieces that hold the bobbin and bobin case--how do we remove that in order to clean it out--?

Carol, Our tech guy stressed that that area be kept clean of lint, thread ect. He recommends using the Ultra Duster that is sold in the Elect. of W. M.. Our Big Lots also carries it. He also strongly recommends to take the bobbin out, but not to remove the entire bobbin area, as it can be very difficult to get it back correctly. I just clean it thoroughly, and do as he says; don't take it apart!
Mariah.

There are directions in the Owner's manual to get to where you're describing. It is meant to be disassembled and cleaned. For another look at how this area works, try this:

With those instructions, and remembering "righty tighty, lefty loosey" I wouldn't have a problem with anyone on this board managing that process by themselves. :)
