Featherweights
Is it hard to find a "white' Singer Featherweight machine in very good condition? About what is the going price for one?
I have always wanted one. |
About $300 plus on Ebay!

This add has been running for weeks now and there another white around this area, but I don't keep track of the Fw's

You can also keep an eye on www.shopgoodwill.com. I've seen (relatively speaking) lots of white FW's on that site. As well as plain old black ones.

Search garage sales. I got mine for 90.00 in pristine condition in June. White, in the case, great shape! She's so cute :)

Thanks everyone. Had never seen shopgoodwill before. I don't 'need' one just want one.

I don't need one either or really have room for one but if I came across one I'd get it!

I lucked onto one, rather my son did at the Goodwill Store here in North Central Florida. White, manufacture date in 1954, with the original inspection sticker still on the front of it, white, and in MINT condition -- it was marked $50, had the foot control and electrical was in great shape, but it had no case. Having been a sewing machine mechanic for 14 years, he decided Mom had to have that one! At first, because I was sick, I didn't realize what he'd gotten! WOW! I'm sure glad he got it!

I saw one at a local Salvation Army store last year for $550...firm. Nothing special about it other than the color, no carry case, manual, accessories, not even a needle or presser foot. I figured somebody wanted a big tax write-off and gave them that price.

Jeanette-How lucky was that!
