Feet for Vintage Necchi and Bradford
 

Hello all! I am new to the group/board. I have recently acquired Three vintage machines - my Mom’s Kenmore Model 90, A Necchi for $20 in the cabinet at a rummage sale and a Bradford (free) in the cabinet from a neighbor. I am blessed that all three run, have some or all (in the case of my Mom’s Kenmore) attachments, parts, feet, etc. However, I am wondering, besides a zig zag foot, what everyone uses for a 1/4” quilting foot on the Necchi and Bradford. Oh, the Bradford, I suspect, is a private label Brother. Anyway, the Necchi and Bradford both have the needles offset to the left and neither has a needle position selection. I am teaching beginners and would like to put them on the vintage machines when we start quilting next month. I am going to work on getting them cleaned up, tho they don’t need much, really. I think I’ll replace belts on all of them too and get spares too! I am so looking forward to bringing these wonderful machines back to life!

From my understanding, most quilters choose a different machine than one that is left-homing for quilt piecing. I wonder if a straight stitch plate and foot, if available, would help being easier to do a quarter inch seam.

I'm curious as to which model Necchi is left-homing.

Also, does the Bradford have a JA or JC number either stamped or cast into the underside of the machine?

I posted a couple of pics, I think! I was having some issues . . . Anyway, I have not seen anywhere that Necchi ever had a machine made in Japan but this one looks like it may have been. The only plastic I see in it are the cams, so far, so that is good. I’ll keep working on figuring out the posting of pics and get a couple of the Bradford. It has J-A-28 on the underside along with the serial number.

I would like to find straight stitch feet for both of them, if possible. I have ordered from sewing parts online so I may have to call them. If I remember correctly, (they are in another building), I have the straight stitch needle plates for both machines of them.
